Learn How To Flush Out All Your Body Toxins Through Your Feet

Detoxification is a very important thing to do, given the number of stress people are feeling these days and the number of toxins in our environment. While going to nature is the best way to detoxify your body, sadly that is not an option for many people who have busy work schedules. For that reason, detoxifying your body through your feet can be one of the easiest and fastest methods towards improving your health and your life.

Detox Pads

Detox pads are pads that you can stick to your feet - kind of similar to how you can insert pads in the insides of your shoes. The difference here is that these pads are made out of bamboo, and contain substances that leech of toxins from your feet.

When to Use Detox Pads

Detox pads can be used at any point during the day and night, although most people prefer to use them during the night, while they are sleeping. That way you won't make the pads dirty by walking over them, or by wearing them inside your shoes.

Ionic Detox Baths for your Feet

Ionic detox foot baths are a relatively new thing in the West, although they have been used in different Asian countries for centuries. The idea behind ionic detox baths is a chemical process called electrolysis. This means controlling current to create a chemical reaction.

How Detox Foot Baths Work

After current is applied inside the water where your feet are placed in (normally, the current is a very low amount so that you won't hurt yourself), salt is applied to the water, so that the electrolysis process can begin, and slowly remove toxins from your feet.

Home-Made Foot Bath

Some of the commercial processes outlined in this guide can be expensive, or in some cases may not be available in your area (if you live in a smaller town). In that case, you should try doing a DIY home-made foot bath. There are several ways to go around this.

How to do a DIY Foot Bath

The easiest way to do a foot bath is get some warm water, and place it inside a container where you can rest your feet. Then you can add a variety of ingredients found in most homes - for example, dried hot pepper, tea, ginger, dried citrus fruit or garlic.

Epsom Salt Foot Bath

Another way to do a DIY home foot bathe is to get some Epsom salt. Then you need to dissolve the salt in hot, but not boiling water. After that, you can mix bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar to create the perfect combination for detoxing your feet.

Rest Your Feet in the Foot Bath for at Least 10 Minutes

After you have prepared your Epsom salt foot bath, you need to remember that the process is not instant - you need to rest your feet inside the container for at least 10 minutes. You should also try not to overdo this by resting for more than 30 minutes (as the water is going to be contaminated).

Does the Water Need to Change Color After the Detox?

Some people believe that the water needs to change color (to a yellow or brownish shade), but that is completely wrong. Some types of foot baths contain chemicals that make it virtually impossible for them to get contaminated enough so that the change color.

Research on the Subject

There are different types of researches and studies done on the subject of detox foot baths. While some studies have not shown the practice as an effect (most toxins in the body are removed from the liver), it is important to do these baths if they feel good for you.

Which People Are Best Candidates for a Detox

Pretty much every person in the world is a prime candidate for a detox, given the number of toxins our bodies produce on a daily basis. The fact of the matter is that even eating food has to release a certain amount of toxins in the body - that is just how life works.

Major Sources of Toxins

There are literally thousands of sources of toxins in our modern environment. You can't escape all of them, but you can watch out for the bigger ones - like processed foods (microwave dinners, French fries, etc.), water in plastic bottles and being in a stressed out/anxious state of mind.

Side Effects of Detoxing

There is a small chance of feeling certain side effects if you decide to use detox equipment to cleanse your body. While most people won't feel anything, those that do will only feel mild symptoms, such as nausea, a need to vomit and dizziness.

Why are Toxins Bad

The reason toxins are a bad thing to keep inside your body is that they can interfere with the regular functioning of your organs (such as the brain) and the production of hormones such as estrogen and testosterone. You don't want to mess up your hormonal balance.
