15 Red Flag Symptoms That Mean You Could Have Cancer

For the large majority of the cases of people with cancer, there are early warning signs that their body is about to get riddled with cancer. While it is common sense that most people should get regular checkups at the doctor's office, they should make sure to watch out for the red flags before cancer fully hits them. Because prevention is always better than cure.

A cough that doesn't go away

A cough that never whittles away. Instead it keeps on hitting back stronger than before making your life miserable. This is one of the most common signs of lung cancer and definitely should be dealt with immediately.

Frequent infections

Frequent fevers and infections are a direct sign of leukemia - cancer which develops in the bone marrow. The bone marrow produces dangerous strains of white blood cells which can prevent the body's ability to fight infections and diseases.

Difficulty swallowing

This is probably the most common signs of throat cancer and could also suggest early signs of lung cancer. If the problem doesn't go away in a few days, you should immediately make an appointment with a doctor.

Weakness

This is the most common symptom of cancer because the body's own immune system has been jeopardized and is overcompensating for it by trying to get rid of the cancer. This results in fatigue which you can't sleep off.

Food disorders

You no longer have the same appetite as you used to. The same foods which you used to crave in the past now give you result in you getting disgusted. Things such as coffee and food result in revulsion.

Being unable to eat

If your body no longer craves for food despite starving for more than few days on end, it definitely is a sign of ovarian cancer. This cancer occurs in the cells which produce eggs for the purpose of reproduction.

Shortness of breath

The most common symptom which chain smokers frequently experience but shrug off as a minor side effect of cancer. It is common place for chain smokers to ignore that smoking cigs could be leading them to cancer.

Blood in stool

This is the most common sign of colorectal cancer when there is too much blood in the toilet when you're done pooping. It is much better that you go and see a doctor immediately otherwise there can be a problem.

Lumps in the breasts and groin

The body's lymphatic system can become compromised if there are swollen lymph nodes. Other areas of the body where you can get lumps include the neck, underarm, groin and the breasts. Serious infections can cause the glands to swell as well.

When the bleeding doesn't stop

Excessive bleeding which doesn't seem to stop can indicate a problem with the red blood cells and platelets. This can be a sign of leukemia which is compromising the blood's ability to carry oxygen and this can lead to clots.

Unexplained weight gain

This weight gain isn't because of overeating or food eating problems, it is because of ovarian cancer. The weight gain can start out of nowhere and continue on for a significant period of time. Go see a doctor now.

Weight loss

Unexplained weight loss should also cause the same level of concern to patients. This is a sign of colon and other types of digestive cancers relating to the stomach. It could be compromising the body's ability to purge waste.

Swollen breasts

Red blotches on the breasts can indicate inflammatory breast cancer. The nipples can get disoriented, flattened, inverted and discolored. It can also result in liquids oozing out. Common signs of patients who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

Disfigurement of the face

Patients with lung cancer have reported problems with their facial features such as puffiness and redness of their face. This is because lung tumors block the blood vessels, disrupting proper blood flow to various areas of the body.
