Entertainment | By Harriet King | November 15, 2017

People are getting more and more difficult to impress these days, which might be the reason why so many weird and wonderful restaurants ae popping up all over the world. In this era of short attention spans, it seems the humble local diner simply doesn't cut it anymore. But hey, we're not complaining! We've even added a whole bunch of these bizarre restaurants to our bucket list - they just sound too strange to pass up.

The Robot Restaurant

Located in Japan's bustling capital, Tokyo, the robot restaurant is a unique cultural experience for any foreigner. With laser lights and real robots creating a chaotic yet fun atmosphere, we're not actually sure how anyone manages to finish their meal.

Ninja Restaurant

If you've ever wondered what it would feel like to star in a ninja movie, wonder no more! The Ninja Restaurant, located in New York, provides a truly strange experience once you enter through the very discreet doorway. Get ready for a scare!

Bel Canto

If you're looking to combine the London tradition of dinner and a show, look no further than Bel Canto Restaurant. Here, the staff are not only great waiters, they're professional opera singers who will perform for you while you eat your dinner.

Rollercoaster Restaurants

Found in various locations around the world, rollercoaster restaurants have well and truly outdone the humble dumb waiter concept. You can expect to watch your food take the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime before it arrives at your table for you to eat.

The Bunyadi

Another London creation, the Bunyadi allows customers to really get comfortable. Maybe even a little too comfortable. At this establishment, all guests dine completely and totally butt naked. Not sure we'd appreciate the unusual view while trying to eat our dinner!

Dans Le Noir

Located in both London and Paris, Dans Le Noir uses a concept that has become popular in various restaurants around the world. Diners eat their meals in pitch-black darkness and don't even know what type of food they're being served.

Dick's Last Resort

A chain operating throughout the USA, we're not quite sure why anyone would want to visit Dick's Last Resort. Wait staff are trained to be obnoxious and insulting towards customers, and you can expect things to get very uncomfortable, very fast.

Devil Island Prison

You read correctly - expect to be handcuffed and locked in a cell before you even see a menu at this place. Located in China, the restaurant's staff wear black and white uniforms to give off an even more authentic jail feel.

Modern Toilet

Okay, this just looks plain gross! You can find this weird restaurant in Taiwan and other locations across Asia. It is bathroom-themed, which means the chairs look like toilets. And did we mention all means are served inside mini toilets?

Heart Attack Grill

At last, a burger restaurant that tells the truth! In all honestly, we wouldn't even be surprised if one of these mega burgers did induce cardiac arrest. The wait staff are dressed as nurses, but they won't be able to save you at this Las Vegas eatery.

Cabbages And Condoms

Ever heard of this condom-themed restaurant in Bangkok? Neither had we. The founder is trying to spread awareness of sexually transmitted diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS, and believes condoms should be as easily accessible as vegetables. Hence the restaurant's quite unusual name!

Ithaa Undersea Restaurant

Sign us up for this one, please! Found five meters below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, it's truly a dining wonderland. Offering panoramic underwater views to guests, Ithaa is not just a restaurant, it's a life experience.

Dinner In The Sky

Found in 45 locations all over the world, Dinner in the Sky is exactly what it sounds like. Diners are raised high above the ground by a crane-like structure. Dinner is then served with stunning and unique views over the city.

Mars Restaurant

If you find yourself in Times Square, New York City, get yourself over to Mars Restaurant for a truly bizarre dining experience. You'll even be greeted by aliens. And let's be real, this is probably the closest any of us are ever going to get to Mars!
