Jennifer Lopez is an American icon. The way that the previous generation thinks of Marilyn Monroe is how the current generation will think about Jennifer Lopez. She can dance, sing, and act. She's a triple threat who just keeps working harder and harder every year to impress us with new skills.

Jennifer Lopez' newest movie, Hustlers, shows her as a stripper - which means she gets to show off that even as she gets older, she's better than ever. It's hard to believe that she is 50 years old given just how physically demanding the role is. She's more than just a pretty face though.

Jennifer Lope, or J.LO as she's better known as, is far more than a singer, dancer, and actress. She's also a philanthropist. Her and her husband A. Rod, have recently done a big thing for Jacksboro Elementary School by giving the school enough money to feed the students for a year.

A Teacher Posts About a Heartbreaking Student Situation

Brooke Goins is a teacher at Jacksoboro Elementary School in Jacksoboro, Tennessee. She has posted a very honest and serious message about one of her children who was suffering from food insecurity, the fear that you won't have the funds or resources to eat. After she posted the message, she was showered in love and support. Not only from everyday people, but also from A-list celebrities Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.

It was October 2nd when Brooke Goins posted about the message describing the incident with her student. "He looked at me and said, 'those little o's (as he made a small circle with his hand), we don't have those at my house, but when I do have them they give me a warm belly and help me sleep.' I lost it, I cried in front of 20 little people. No kid should ever be hungry, ever."

J. Lo and A. Rod Come Through to Help

Several teachers responded to the message by contributing what they could to the boy and his family. It's a great reminder of how heroic America's teachers can truly be. They got their money together to provide them with cereal, soup, snacks, and Spaghetti-Os. Goins, a mother of three herself, was incredibly thankful for their support. Her Facebook message was posted 40,000 times. That kind of social media attention got the post in the hands of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez who recently got engaged. Most people would be focused on themselves after recently getting engaged, but Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were too touched by the story to ignore it.

A few weeks after the video was posted, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodrigue responded by conducting a video chat with Brooke Goins and her classroom.

J. Lo and A. Rod donated food from their new company

In the video chat, Lopez said, "We were so moved. Oh my God, we were crying. You know, my mom was a teacher, and it was such a moving story that we wanted to help. For the student you wrote about on Facebook, we're donating a year's worth of meals for him and his family." Lopez and Rodriguez got the food for their donation from a company they recently started called Tiller and Hatch. The company sells food meant to be quickly heated in a pressure cooker. Lopez said, "Everyone should have access to delicious, nutritious food. This was my favorite moment of the month and it's one of the best things we've been able to do."

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez may be doing well now, but they started out from Latino immigrant families.
