Sarah Silverman is known for her quirky antics, social commentary, and comedy. She's tackled a multitude of controversial issues from gender bias, sexism, racism, and religion. Sarah Silverman has also starred in multiple shows she's curated including The Sarah Silverman Program and her latest endeavor in the Hulu exclusive, I Love You, America.
Unfortunately, in 2016, Sarah Silverman almost was a goner after developing a rare condition known as epiglottitis, a disease where the epiglottis [or the cartilage covering the windpipe] becomes inflamed and blocks the air flow to the lungs. Silverman was rushed to Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and was treated for the condition. She also stated the following, "I was drugged just enough to not feel the pain and have no idea what was happening or where I was. They had to have my hands restrained to keep me from pulling out my breathing tube."
