Hailing from the small town of Hibbing, Minnesota, Kevin McHale was able to become a local legend, ranking second in all-time career points (1,704) and rebounds (950) at the University of Minnesota.
McHale's 6'10 frame and elite skill set translated directly to the professional level as he was drafted to the Boston Celtics third overall in the 1980 NBA Draft. McHale went on to become a 7x NBA All-Star, 3x NBA All-Defensive First Team roster member, and 3x NBA Champion. It also doesn't hurt being named an inductee into the Basketball Hall of Fame and then going on to being a general manager, head coach, and television analyst for the game you love.
