The site of Petra is a well-known fable in Middle Eastern culture. While there are many fables that surround the place, you can skip on them and do one of the more interesting things there, which is to take a walk that takes you all the way to the end of the line at the Siq. The Siq is the main entrance to the ancient Nabatean city, called Petra, located in southern Jordan.
The Siq means "the Shaft," and it also goes by the name of Siqit. The main entrance seen from the inside is a natural gorge, that is no more than 10 feet wide in some places. The entire place is approximately 0.75 miles long, meaning it can be easily walked through in around 20 minutes, leaving you enough time to see and wonder the rest of the place.
