Norway's fjords were the places from where numerous Viking expeditions first took place. The geographical formation made it an excellent and safe place for shipbuilding to take place. The Geirangerfjord fjord is located in the Sunnmore region of More of Romsdal country, Norway. It is 15 km (9.3 miles) long, and it even has a small village called Geiranger located at the end of the fjord.
Today, the fjord is one of Norway's most visited sites, with even cruise ships landing in the fjord village. Since 2005, the fjord is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, although this status may be canceled, as Norway wants to construct power lines across the fjord. If that really happens, the view and glamour of the place may be ruined for the future generations who have yet to see the place.
