However, Denmark's capital city, Copenhagen is host to Tivoli Gardens, rated as one of the best and most exciting amusement parks in the world. Few people would think of Denmark as the place to have a place like this, but that is the truth.
The park first opened back on 15 August 1843, making it the oldest operating amusement park in the world. The oldest amusement park is also located in Denmark but is found near Klampenborg. The park had 4.6 million visitors in 2016, which makes it the second most visited seasonal amusement park in the world after the more popular Europa-Park, from Germany.
