24. Dolly Parton

Now in her early 70s, Dolly Parton is still a busy and active show business professional. Beginning her career back in 1959 as a child performer singing on local radio, she moved to music mecca Nashville, Tennessee in 1964 on the day after she graduated high school. After success as a singer and songwriter, she moved into television roles and eventually into major motion picture roles in the 1970s and 1980s.

Her accomplishments make quite the long list, but a few highlights of her enduring career are: Induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame (1999), an honorary doctorate degree from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee (1990), and having the distinction of receiving 46 Grammy Award nominations, which ties her for the most Grammy nominations with Bruce Springsteen. With such a long career, it's no surprise that her net worth is estimated at being over $500 million dollars! Little-Known Fact: Dolly Parton is the godmother of singer/actress Miley Cyrus.
