Born Anna Cooke Kendrick on August 9, 1985 in Portland, Maine, Anna Kendrick started her acting career as a child by auditioning for live theatre roles in New York City. After being cast as Jessica Stanley in the vampire-romance series "Twilight" in 2008, her major motion picture career took off. In 2009, she starred alongside Hollywood heavy weight George Clooney in "Up in the Air" as an eager but naive post-secondary graduate tasked with helping Clooney's character in giving guidance to recently laid-off corporate employees.
More recently, Kendrick has been featured in a leading role in the "Pitch Perfect" series of movies, about a group of college a cappella singers. She has also lent her talents to other popular shows, such as "Saturday Night Live", and "Family Guy" as a voice-actress. In 2016, she published a memoir entitled "Scrappy Little Nobody". Well, she may be scrappy, but Anna Kendrick certainly is NOT a nobody!
