The Holiday was one of the biggest romantic comedies of the year when it was released back in 2006. With a half-British, half-American main cast, it was something everyone could get behind. And did we mention it's a Christmas film? The Holiday starred Kate Winslet and Jude Law as the British half of the cast, and Cameron Diaz and Jack Black as the American side.
The plot was interesting, if a little predictable, but to be totally honest, we don't think anyone cared. It begins with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz switching homes as part of a vacation swap arrangement. While the two women are off living in foreign lands, they inevitably fall in love. If you aren't convinced that it's one of the best chick flicks of all time, it might help to know that it won a Teen Choice Award in the Chick Flick category.
