33. The Sound Of Music

Is there anything better than watching The Sound of Music with a bunch of girlfriends who know the words to every song? We don't think so! Julie Andrews was on a roll with this one, as she had just achieved huge success with Mary Poppins the year before. Whether your favorite song is Sixteen Going on Seventeen, My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss, or something else, everybody can have with this film.

The storyline follows Maria, a nun in training, who gets assigned the role of governess for seven children. She moves into the Von Trapp home and brings music into their lives. She ultimately falls in love with 'the captain' - the father of the children, who had lost his wife. It is set during World War II and involves a dramatic escape at the end.
