1977 was the year of Smokey and the Bandit, an action-packed, romantic comedy about beer, love, and Burt Reynolds. In the movie, Burt Reynolds has to illegally smuggle beer across state lines (at the time, it was illegal to do so). During his travels, he picks up Sally Field after she had just run out on her wedding. To make matters worse, she was supposed to marry a sheriff's son. The sheriff is played delightfully by Jackie Gleason who appears drunk throughout the entire filming.
Sally Field is dynamite in Smokey and the Bandit. The chemistry between her and Burt Reynolds is part of what makes the movie such a classic. By that photo alone, you can only guess how much of a sex symbol she was. To this day, Sally Field can get it. She is absolutely gorgeous.
