Travis Barker

Travis Barker

Travis Barker is definitely one of this generation's most well-known drummer alongside The Roots' drummer, Questlove, and has had one best runs in pop-punk history with the west coast-based band, Blink-182. Now, Travis Barker has made quite the name for himself in the hip-hop realm and continues to crank out some pretty dope musical content to this very day.

In 2008, Travis Barker and his friend and music collaborative partner in DJ AM were involved in a plane crash where they were the only two to survive. Travis had a total of sixteen surgeries following the crash and spent more than eleven weeks in the hospital. Sadly, DJ AM died a year later via an overdose. Barker spoke on the events that occurred saying, "I opened a door, and my hands caught fire. I ran to get out of the plane, but I fell through a wing. I immediately soaked up with jet fuel and caught fire. And then I was on fire, running like hell. I was running for my family: I didn't care about anything except being with my dad, my sister, Shanna, my three kids. I'm completely naked, holding my genitals - everything else is on fire - and I'm running, trying to put myself out." Rest in power to DJ AM.
