Tony Bennett is 91-years-old and still kickin' to this very day but there has been a time where he too, almost met his maker. Bennett has been an active jazz musician/singer since 1945 and he's even touched genres such as traditional American pop, big band, and show tunes. Tony Bennett has also established himself as quite the artist/painter as well as the founder of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in New York.
Bennett has lived quite the life though as he almost died via a drug overdose, in Bennett's autobiography he relived the experience stating the following, "A golden light enveloped me in a warm glow.I had the sense that I was about to embark on a very compelling journey. But suddenly I was jolted out of the vision ... I knew I had to make major changes in my life."
