Meritamun (meaning beloved of the God Amun) was the daughter and eventually the wife (not cool) of Pharaoh Ramesses the Great who was infamous for expanding the Egyptian empire into Syria, Libya and Old Nubia.
The cause of Meritamun's death is still a mystery, however, entomologists are hazarding a guess at either anemia or through infection caused by a tooth abscess. Nice.
