Many of them contain a lot of sugar and preservatives that are no good for the human body. Dried fruits often contain sulfites, too, which are used to keep them fresh. Sulfites can be extremely inflammatory, especially to those with allergies and asthma.
If you just can't get enough of your dried fruits, get them from a trusted health food retailer and make sure they don't contain sulfites or added sugar. They'll taste just as good! The other option you can try is just eating regular fruit. Berries are a great snack size, or you could chop up apples for something crunchy.
