Picking small pieces of glass with your bare hands is a really bad idea. You wouldn't want to be taking the risk of having your hands cut because you didn't take the necessary precaution. A better hack for picking up broken glass is to grab a slice of bread with you. Once you have the slice of bread, just put it on the affected area and see how well the moisture in it grabs hold of the shards of glass on the floor.
