Amanda was already a fully-grown woman by the 1990s, so we didn't grow up with her in the same way we did with many of the star names on this list, but that doesn't make her role in the decade any less significant. Already known to the cult audience from her appearance in seminal 1985 horror film 'Fright Night', Amanda found her greatest fame playing Marcy in "Married...with children" for a full decade from 1987 all the way through to 1997.
Her TV career never really progressed from there, and aside from the occasional bit-part, she hasn't been seen as an actress very much since. She is, however, an icon of the LGBT community; she came out as a lesbian in 1993 at a time when gay rights had not evolved to the position they've now reached. It was a decision that took bravery and will have inspired many other women who were trapped in her position.
