Janet was a true 90s icon, rising up from her brother's shadow to become every bit as celebrated and acclaimed as he was, even sharing screen and song time with him in their memorable 90s duet 'Scream'.
Her 1997 album 'Velvet Rope' is one of the most critically acclaimed releases of all time, and arguably only really Madonna could really rival her for female star power at her peak. Her reputation suffered a little after her infamous 'wardrobe malfunction' whilst performing with Justin Timberlake at the Superbowl, but she's recovered, and continues to record music and tour on a global scale.
