Burt Reynolds is not only known for his elaborate acting ability but he was also a former football player which came to use when he starred in the feature film, The Longest Yard, while his true rise to prominence came in the form of a television show, Gunsmoke. His role in the film, Deliverance, allowed him to become a household name while he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Boogie Nights.
We almost lost the legendary actor during his fight with drug addiction which caused him to slip into a coma. Later, Burt Reynolds recalled when he hearing doctors scream 'we're losing him' prior to drifting out of consciousness. Luckily, he was able to beat his drug addiction and came back to the physical realm with the rest of us.
