Gerard Butler is a face we've gotten used to seeing on the silver screen over the past three decades as the Scottish actor has been a part of some box office hits like starring in films like Dracula 2000, The Phantom of the Opera, the 2003 rendition of Tomb Raider alongside Angelina Jolie, and the role of King Leonidas in 300 that earned him international recognition. Gerard's always been pretty bad a** if you ask us.
Unfortunately, in 2011, a surfing incident on the set of the film, Chasing Mavericks, almost caused the actor to drown which sent him into a whirlwind of painkillers and prescription drug abuse. Butler later went on to check himself into rehab in order to shake his habit of painkiller addiction. Luckily, he's doing better than ever these days and still landing some major movie roles.
