Experience the Wild West at the Calgary Stampede in Canada

Calgary is a city in the Western part of Canada, that has a lot to offer visitors. Apart from the city's booming mining and oil industry, it is also home to the Calgary Stampede, an event that offers visitors a flashback to the days of the Wild West. The Calgary Stampede is an annual rodeo, exhibition and festival held every July. The event lasts for 10 days, leaving plenty of room for visitors to check it out.

The Calgary Stampede has been called by name as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth," due to the fact that it attracts over one million visitors every year, making it the home to one of the largest rodeos ever. The event traces its roots to 1886 when the first event of its type was held. The first rodeo was added to the event's repertoire by American promoter Guy Weadick, in 1912.
