In his prime, 'Playboy' Buddy Rose was arguably the most hardworking wrestler of his era. In the early 1980s, Rose would often work 90s day straight performing for fans across the country. When he was able to get a day off from the WWF, he would fly to the west coast where he would perform in smaller market promotion companies for local fans. Buddy Rose had many worthy rivals including Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka, then-WWF Champion Bob Buckland, and more.
Playboy Buddy Rose even participated in the first-ever Wrestlemania as 'The Executioner' where he took on Tito Santana. After taking a break from wrestling and returning in the early '90s, he had gained a considerable amount of weight which he used to play on throughout his monologues. Rose was a comical heel that gained the respect of fans but unfortunately, lost his life at the age of 56 due to natural causes involving his weight in 2009.
