If this were a decade or two ago, Angelina Jolie might be the best choice for Wonder Woman. I don't think she would have been the right choice, but she would have been the best choice. Think about Angelina Jolie in 'Tomb Raider.' She practically owned sexy action brunette roles for a couple of years in Hollywood. I personally think she is too skinny for the role, but back in 2008 that might not have been as much of the case. That's when Joss Whedon chose her to play Wonder Woman in his adaptation that never came to be.
I like that Wonder Woman was played by Gal Gadot, a lesser known actress than Angelina Jolie. When a famous actor is cast, too much baggage comes with them. I think this is one reason why Affleck's Batman isn't universally loved.
