Arguably Liverpool's most famous sons, the band are seen here early in their careers, lighting up cigarettes backstage at the Regal in Cambridge in 1963. There was no way back then that they could have known what was to come, from their redefining of what pop music sounded like to their experimental sounds of the late 60s, everybody knows at least one Beatles song. Each of the band went on to achieve great success on their own after the band split in 1970, and their impact continues to be felt to this day.
