And the common thread on this extensive list of amazing movies over the past 30-plus years? One name: Al Pacino.

Born in East Harlem, New York City to Italian-American parents on April 25, 1940, Alfredo James Pacino was destined for movie stardom. Pacino studied method acting under Lee Strasberg at the famed Actors Studio in New York, before going on to star in some of the most memorable roles of the modern age. It's no surprise that Pacino has won what's known as the "Triple Crown of Acting" for having been awarded an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony Award for his acting.
