We can't even think about this movie without tearing up! We recommend only sitting down to watch this if you have several boxes of tissues ready to go. Released in 1991, My Girl starred everybody's favorite child actor, Macaulay Culkin, as well as Anna Chlumsky, Dan Aykroyd, and Jamie Lee Curtis. It is a coming of age comedy, drama, romance, tragedy, etc. Yes, basically an emotional rollercoaster ride.
The storyline is centered around eleven-year-old Vada, a hypochondriac who lost her mother and is obsessed with death. She's friends with Thomas, a dorky dude who is allergic to pretty much everything. Naturally a sweet love starts to blossom. It all ends rather sadly when Thomas gets stung by so many bees that he dies from an allergic reaction. He was attempting to retrieve Vada's ring at the time.
