Sean Astin is one of those consistent and somewhat underrated actors that started young and continues to do great work on screen. He got his first role was when he was eight years old, starring in television movie, Please Don't Hit Me, Mom. Four years later he got his real big break when he played Mikey in The Goonies. After this success, he went on to appear in many other films, including Like Father Like Son, White Water Summer, The War of the Roses, Toy Soldiers, and Encino Man.
As an adult, Astin is best known for his role as Samwise Gamgee in The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King - all three of the films in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Post-Lord of the Rings, Astin has appeared in several other films, including 50 First Dates, Click, and Smile.
