Michael Fishman got his start, and only major role in his acting career, on the television series Roseanne in 1988. He played D.J. Conner on the show until 1997, from the age of six to fifteen years old. He originally scored the role by impressing lead actress and title character, Roseanne Barr, when she asked him to tell a joke in his audition. The Joke? "Why did the turtle cross the road? it was the chicken's day off." We guess it would have been pretty cute coming from a six-year-old.
Fishman appeared in very small roles in a variety of TV shows and movies, including Seinfeld, Hey Arnold, and A.I. Artificial Intelligence. It seemed like things were finally going his way again when Roseanne was picked up for a revival series in 2018. However, the show has since been cancelled due to racist remarks made by Barr.
