Symptoms of Strokes in Women That You Have To Know

A stroke can literally happen to any person at any stage of time. Statistics have suggested that women aged between 17 and 40 years are more prone to the occurrence of a stroke than men in the same age are. This means that strokes kill more women than they kill men, which is why it is good to know the symptoms behind them.

Types of Strokes

Although there are many different types of strokes that can be based on the conditions that a person is suffering from, the basic types can be constituted into two main heads. These two major heads are explained below.

Ischemic Stroke

Ischemic stroke is basically one where your brain tissues are damaged because of the lack of blood supply towards your vessels. This lack of blood supply could also occur because of narrowing down of the vessels or clogging.

Hemorrhagic Stroke

The second type of stroke is hemorrhagic stroke which can occur if your brain vessels rupture inside your brain. This rupture may cause incessant swelling and pressure inside your brain and may lead to further difficulties in the brain.

Symptoms

There are certain symptoms that are experienced by women whey they get a sudden brain stroke. These symptoms may mean that something is happening inside the brain and they may have to work upon it for getting the remedy.

Visual Impairment

The first of the symptoms experienced by a woman getting a stroke is sudden visual impairment. Visual impairment that is inflicted on you due to a stroke may affect one or both of your eyes and the optic lobes.

Acute Headache

Acute headaches appear all of a sudden and are a big symptom of brain stroke. A headache that appears suddenly may be a case of a brain stroke. If the headache is followed by vomiting and nausea then something is up.

Acute Pain

A stroke that comes without a warning may also include a heart attack with it. The heart attack will induce pain in your chest and may make you feel weak. It is imperative that you get to a doctor ASAP if this happens.

Impaired coordination

A sudden loss of coordination and the movements you have in terms of ordination in space will indicate towards damage in the part of your brain that is held responsible for movement. This can even prove fatal at times.

Sudden Fatigue

If an active woman suddenly starts feeling fatigued then chances are that she has something going on in her data center. If a woman experiences changes in mood, unwillingness to do anything else and drowsiness then the symptoms indicate towards a stroke.

Loss of Consciousness

This is the most obvious one among all of the signs as it can be easily witnessed that if someone loses consciousness then they are under a stroke. Shortness of palpations and breath may also occur because of this.

Pain

Pain on one side of the brain can also be considered as a symptom of this sign. If a woman experiences pain on one side of the face then she is probably suffering from the threat of a stroke. This should be looked after.

Checking It

Since many people may find the symptoms above pretty inconclusive, it is necessary that you perform a test and see for yourself whether someone is suffering a stroke or not. Following are the ways that you can check this through.

Smile

If you sense that someone may have suffered from a stroke then tell them to smile in front of you. If they have suffered from a stroke their smile will be asymmetrical, which is that one corner will stay unmoved.

Hands

If a person shows some symptoms of a stroke then ask them to lift both hands and then hold them in a straight position above their face. If they have suffered a stroke, then one hand will fall down.
