Elvis wasn't just a huge pop star and lover of music. He also really loved guns and law enforcement. In this photo, he is being given an honorary police badge in Colorado. I'm not sure how much authority that gave him, but considering he was well known for using a gun to turn off TVs, I'm terrified. Elvis sounds like the last person I would want to arrest me. If he treated me anything like his TVs, I wouldn't make it to the station.
There are many interesting stories about Elvis' eccentricities. Some stories say that he would frequently bring a gun on airplanes. If anyone gave him trouble for having the gun, he would cause a stink. When you are as rich and powerful as Elvis was, you start to think that the rules don't apply to you.
