Hollywood is not the best place for long lasting marriages. There are just way too many attractive people! Can you blame actors for not being able to stay tied down? Most Hollywood marriages end very quickly, which is sad, but these people are rich so how sad can it really be? Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are the exceptions. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage together which only ended when Paul Newman passed away in 2008.
According to a quote from Paul Newman, he said, “People stay married because they want to -- not because the doors are locked.” He also said another interesting relationship quote, “I have steak at home. Why should I go for a hamburger?” Some might see him equating his wife with a steak as problematic, but I find it to be very sweet.
