In this case, her mother wants her and her sister to become vaudeville entertainers. Natalie Wood plays the main character who ends up becoming a stripper at a crappy burlesque club. At that burlesque club, she finds her star power and ends up becoming a big star. As for her mother, Natalie Wood tells her to “get lost.”
Don't go watching this movie expecting something like Showgirls. Despite its subject matter, not a lot of sexually explicit content is in the movie. If you want to see sex appeal and stripteses, you might have to settle for Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez.
