Jim Liberman was a drag racer for the “Funny Car” circuit, but this photo is obviously not Jim Liberman. I bring him up because this is a photo of Pamela Hardy who was Jim LIberman's sidekick on the Funny Car circuit. At the age of 18, she made a spur of the moment decision to become his sidekick when she met Jim and saw his Corvette. The moment they met is like something out of the movies. He was driving past her, then immediately stopped, came back, and picked her up.
She loved cars and the lifestyle of drag racers, so the rest was history. Unfortunately she met an ironic death only a few years later. She was killed in a head to head collision with a bus. I'm sure if she would have had it her way, she would have rather met her maker on the drag strip.
